Dillion Roth
Six months before our story begins the invasion of Rise started. The Negallen Army sent down five hundred thousand troops scattered all around. When the transports hit the planet's atmosphere, they shut off causing them to crash onto the planet’s surface. Out of the five hundred thousand a little over one hundred thousand soldiers survived. Dillion Roth was one of those one hundred thousand.
Before joining the military, Dillion Roth lived on a space station known as The Sky Forge. He worked in a factory creating the metal that was later put onto the Negallen Empire’s ships. Soon after the Seven Empires War, the factory turned from a human into a robotic workforce. This sent Dillion into the job market. With robotics taking over many other labor jobs Dillion turned to joining the military.
Coming from no military background, and having no education, Dillion was put at the bottom of the ranking. He trained for six months and was sent into the infantry. Dillion was only one year into his service when Emperor Tiho declared the war against Rise.
Dillion passed through the Polaris Gateway and traveled for six weeks until he was in orbit with Rise. Along the way he had one of the last communications with his wife where he found out she was several months pregnant. Five months into his deployment, he asked a friend if he would call his wife and ask for a picture of his child. He received a picture of a little girl with a note on the back saying “she has your eyes.”
Dillion served in third battalion, where he rose from the base rank to second in command of the battalion. He never did anything heroic or careless and managed to survive six months in one of the most hostile environments the Negallen Army had ever seen. He was transferred from base to base as each one was taken or destroyed by the feared Bali Warriors.
One day he was attacking a pass in the north with the second and fourth battalions and was forced to watch as his commanding officer was speared by a Bali Warrior. As he held the commander up, his armor was pierced by a strange blue flash. The Bali would explode in a giant blue flame that Dillion had never seen. He then watched as the man who fired, who called himself the Commander of second battalion, stood on a platform and issued orders that killed dozens Bali warriors. Now, leader of the third battalion, he would hope to join with the new Commander of second battalion, James Stark.
Dillion is not a super soldier, or mutant, or a specialized soldier. By all accounts, Dillion Roth is as close to the common man as you can get. He follows James’s orders to the letter. He does it because he believes that James will get him home and all he wants is to see his daughter for the first time.
